Definition of: Form Grinding

Form Grinding is grinding using a wheel having a contour on its cutting face with a mating fit to the desired form. It is a type of centerless grinding that uses a specialized edge, or profile, that is added to the face of a wheel. The "form" or profile is then imparted into the workpiece during grinding.
